Abstract: | The thesis entitled Synthesis and biological aspects of some metal drug complexes . newlineThe thesis is presented in five chapters. The contents of the chapters are given in abstract below. newlineChapter I: Chapter (I) has introduction to coordination compounds. It has a brief outline of drugs and their mechanism of action along with the chemistry and biological importance of metal ions. It has a review of drug metal complexes previously studied. At the end it includes aim and scope of present investigations. newlineChapter II: newlineThis chapter has details of the material and method used for the synthesis of metal drug complexes. newlineMethodology of synthesis of drug metal complexes. newlineMETAL + LIGAND reflux (pH maintained) and#8594; METAL COMPLEX newlineChapter III: newlineThis chapter contains various experimental techniques and their role in the characterization of metal complexes. The experimental details of measurements of magnetic susceptibility, conductance measurement, infrared spectroscopy, electronic spectroscopy, X- ray Diffraction and thermal analyses as thermogravimetry and differential thermogravimetric analysis. newlineChapter IV: newlineThis presents the results and discussion on the experimental data of conductivity measurement, magnetic susceptibility, electronic absorption spectra s, infrared spectra s and X-ray powder diffraction measurements. newlineIt also includes discussion on elemental analyses and thermal decomposition of metal complexes on the basis of simultaneous TG DTA curves. The chapter is also focused on the conclusions drawn on the basis of results. newlineChapter V: newlineThis chapter describes the method used and results obtained by antimicrobial study. The results are represented with help of table, graph and photographs of antibacterial inhibition by agar well diffusion method. newlineGeometry of the drug complexes was confirmed by these physical characterizations. Antibacterial screening gives a prospective about inhibition effect even though percentage of inhibition decreased than that of the parent drug newline |
