Abstract: | The objective of this study namely to classify and describe the natural vegetation of Borsad Taluka a suitable useful local scale to relate the different plant communities identified and Phytosociological studied.The need of environmental protection has not just a moral or ethic aspect today. It is well known fact, that climate changes desertification drought, earth quake and other natural calamities are induced by the destruction of natural resources. They may occur on a global, regional or local level they do not know border environment and society need active support the survival of man is intimately related to the availability of different natural and plant resources. The plant wealth of country is its pride and acquiring knowledge of flora and vegetation is of immense scientific and commercial importance. India is big country covering wide diversity in environmental and biogeographically condition which leads to the development of wide range of vegetation types. Many scientists represent a very rich flora of India and Gujarat. But a region taluka wise systematic botanical survey is essential. This will help to compile the knowledge of country s present plant wealth with emphasis on distribution and status. The aim of the investigation was to analyze Floristic and Phytosociological characteristics and diversity patterns of Borsad taluka of Anand district. Floristic and phytosociology study was carried out during 2010-2012. The study area harbored 439. Total plant species of vascular plants including 98.86% species of angiosperm, 0.89% gymnosperm and 0.22% pteridophyte was observed. There are 439 species in 332 genera and 104 families of vascular plant in study are Taxonomically, family distribution in study site Fabaceae (27) species is most dominant families in study site after than stands, Poaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Solanaceae, Asteraceae, Caesalpiniaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Convolvulaceae in study area. In Anand district 358 villages out of which 64 villages in Borsad Taluka. |
