dc.description.abstractnewlineThis work was carried for a period of four years (January 2004 to November 2007) to learn and study about the protozoan and nematode parasites of insects. The present endeavor was undertaken with the idea to establish a baseline data of protozoan and nematode parasites of insects in the state which would subsequently help to improve the economy of the state by utilizing these parasites as biological weapons against damage causing insects of Horticultural and agricultural importance. newlineThe methods followed included those of collection of insects with entomological nets, traps, and jars covered with muslin cloth and were then brought to the laboratory in live condition, where further processing was done. newlineThe observations made during the present endevour have been divided into two headings as under : and#61692; Protozoan parasites of insects and and#61692; Nematode parasites of insects newlineAbstract newline newlineInsects like Grasshoppers, Cockroaches, Woolly-Aphis, Hairy Caterpillar, Apple Stem Borer, Moths, Cerambycid borers, Dung Beetles, Meal beetles, Dragon flies, Musca domestica, Bumble bees, Honey bees, Cutworm and Pieris sps. were screened for protozoans and nematode parasites.
