Abstract: | Stress has been on a rise in this era of High-technology speed global competition. Over the past few decades stress is emerging as an increasing problem in the organisations. Work place stress is becoming a major issue and a matter of concern for the employees and the organisations. In this study role stress has been used as dependent variable. Following are the variables identified and studied by the researcher personal-Demographic variable, personal- psychological variable, situational variable like work family conflict and change orientation and outcome variables like Depression, Life satisfaction, Quality of work life. newline The objective of the study is to find out the impact of demographic variable on role stress of women, to find out the impact of personal psychological variable personality on role stress and to study the influence of situational variable on role stress and to compare role stress of women professional in private and public sector, to explain the relationship between dependent variable and outcome variables. newline Hypothesis were formulated based on the variables identified like demographic variables has no influence on role stress of women professional, there is no significant relationship between role stress and personal psychological variable, situational and outcome variables and there is no significant difference between private and public sector. newline Descriptive research design was followed in this research, a sample of 491 responses were utilized for the present study (83 Lecturers, 153 Bank officers, 56 Doctors, 199 Engineers). The sample was collected within a period of four months (Sep Dec 2011). The convenient sampling technique is used. It is Non Probability sampling technique where subjects are selected because of their convenient accessibility and proximity to the researcher. newline In order to measure the role stress and other selected variables standard instruments were used like work family conflict scale Type A and Type B scale, Life Satisfaction scale, Change orientation scale, |
