Abstract: | The utmost essential component among all the service industries for any country is its healthcare services. This industry is characteristically unusual because recession is unheard of while boom is synonymous with continued systematic efficient growth on par with modern day international standards of quality, accessibility, availability and more importantly affordability. newlineHowever, if one perceives the greater picture in depth there seems dissent and dissatisfaction beating a discordant note prevailing among healthcare employees. Newspaper items related to hospital employees and articles on hospital groups collected from different regions of India depict this unfortunate picture. There are some prominently observed issues related with hospital employees like wage revision, challenging working conditions, inadequate protection from infections, ill treatment, over-burdening and withholding of original documents in lieu of job offer, bondage, etc. These issues inevitably lead further to agitated outcomes, strikes, migrations of skilled personnel to other pastures and also change of one s own job profile. All these aforementioned issues collectively or in isolation lead to cases of medical negligence, exorbitant compensation for damages and subsequently diminishing the brand image of the hospitals. newline newline |
