Investigation on role of renin angiotensin system in inflammation and nociception

Abstract

Renin angiotensin system (RAS) is known to play an important role in regulating blood pressure, fluid volume and electrolyte balance. There are also few reports indicating involvement of this system in various inflammatory and painful conditions. However, specific role of renin as well as different blockers of RAS axis in different types of pain and inflammatory conditions has not been evaluated thoroughly.
