Abstract: Metallic and non-metallic nanoparticles synthesis characterization and selected applications are the main objectives of this research work The key achievements of this research work is the fabrication and characterization of two metallic silver and gold nanoparticles using sixteen plant extracts and a non metallic nanoparticle graphene and investigation of selected pharmacological biological and environmental applications of both metallic and nonmetallic nanoparticles The various physicochemical methods viz room newlinetemperature higher temperature sonication microwave and solar irradiation were adopted to achieve the rapid formation of metallic nanoparticles Anisotropic gold nanoparticles were synthesized by optimizing the experimental conditions The reduction of graphene oxide to fewlayer graphene was accomplished using three plant extracts by reflux method The formation of biosynthesized AgNPs AuNPs and few layer graphene were confirmed by UVVisible spectroscopy Xray Diffraction XRD Fourier Transform InfraRed newlinespectroscopy FTIR Scanning Electron Microscopy SEM and Transmission Electron Microscopy TEM analysis The stability of the fewlayer graphene was confirmed by zetapotential Raman spectral and Thermogravimetric TGA analysis
