dc.description.abstractThe textiles industry is going through revolutionary changes aiming to meet unique needs of modern customers Sports apparel today make use of fabrics that employ technology to offer the wearer more comfort and fit even when used for long periods Moisture handling properties of textiles during intense physical activities have been regarded as major factor in the comfort performance Bamboo and Cotton are cellulosic fibers which is very absorbent and soft It will be useful to the sports personal during their activity Hence this fabric is preferred by them Some of the chemical dyes were found to be associated with hazards affecting human life creating skin diseases and lung problems The natural and vegetable dyes are more skin friendly Natural dyes are eco friendly and biodegradable and noncarcinogenic Finishing is used to manipulate the appearance characteristics performance or hand of a fabric Antimicrobial finishing is one of the special types of finishing given to the textiles newlinewhere the chances of bacterial growth are high The prevention of UV radiation damage has become more and more important in recent years because UV radiation has detrimental newlineeffects on human skin The important function performed by garments is to protect the wearer from harmful rays of sun In textiles the major interest in microencapsulation is currently in newlinethe application of durable finish It can with stand for multiple wash The methodology of the study consisted of five phases newlineFrom the survey it was found that 30s count cotton was the most preferred Based on the literature the investigator selected Cotton Bamboo and Bamboo Cotton yarns to produce knitted fabrics for sportswear Hence 30S count combed yarns of 100 percent Cotton 100 percent Bamboo Bamboo Cotton 50 50 percent were procured and evaluated The yarns were made into single jersey fabric using circular knitting machine and bioscoured For natural dyeing Bixa orellana Annatto seed and Biomordant Punica granatum newlinePomegranate rind were applied using premordanting technique For antibacte
