Abstract: | In recent years, there has been a great deal of interest in employee engagement. Employees are becoming more diverse. Today organizations are highly complex, more heterogeneous and boundary-less in nature. Organizations are diverse in nature comprising workgroups from different cultures, races, nations, regions and religion. Each individual has its own abilities, feelings, knowledge, skills, perceptions and attitudes. The organizations are competing for talented people who have high performance and high competence in workplace. Expectations are ever increasing not only from the employees but employers as well. It is very challenging for the HR practitioners to effectively manage this diverse workforce and engage them in work, create feeling of belongingness, so that they wholeheartedly contribute towards the attainment of organizational goals, and stay in the organizations for longer and do not mind to go extra miles for the organizations for which they work. newlinePresently the education sector in India is in a changing phase, requiring their teachers to be more engaged in academic and research work; so that they can impart knowledge, develop skills and positive attitude of students at all levels. With the quality of education that is at par with the global standards, the students of higher education have better prospects to enter the global markets. newline |
