Abstract: A good deal of research had gone into methods/ strategies of teaching Mathematics during the past few decades. Yet, the present study is conducted in a different and unique manner to study the effectiveness of Advance Organizer Model in the teaching of Mathematics. The present study attempts to focus on the classroom application of Ausubel s theory especially the evaluation aspect of the instructional and nurturant effect of Advance Organizer Model. The theoretical overview presented in this study will help to think more about different dimension of instructional and nurturant effect of Advance Organizer Model and help to identify more activities and assignment that can be integrated in classroom presentation. Title of the present study is framed as A STUDY ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ADVANCE ORGANIZER MODEL IN THE TEACHING OF MATHEMATICS AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS AT DIFFERING LEVELS OF INTELLIGENCE . Eight major objectives were designed so as to tackle the problem in a minute manner. Appropriate hypotheses were formulated in tune with these objectives. It was decided that a long term experimental study will suit the purpose. Hence a sample was selected from a single school for the proper conduct of experiment and a minute analysis was made to arrive at a conclusion. This study reveals the fact that though the pupils at different intelligence level approached learning situation in a different manner, Advance Organize Model is far superior to Conventional Method of teaching. This thesis is not a work that took place only in library, but in real classroom situation for a whole academic year where the investigator was fortunate enough to work with extreme satisfaction along with Headmaster, many teachers and students. The present study took its final form with the help of many efficient and dedicated experts in the field of education. An acknowledgement of indebtedness is made to all the scholars who rendered helpful suggestion for shaping this work.
