Rhodiola imbricata Edgew belonging to the family Crassulaceae is an important newlineand widely used food crop and traditional medicinal plant distributed in transHimalayan cold newlinedesert regions in India Pakistan Tibet China Nepal and many other countries. In traditional newlinemedicinal system as well as in various in vivo and in vitro studies its pharmacological newlinepotentials are well documented in different root extracts of the plant. However the active newlineprinciple such as volatile semivolatile and polar compounds in these extracts still remains newlineunidentified. Moreover the root of the plant is used as an adaptogen but itand#8223;s used as to newlineincrease physical endurance remains untested. Beside these plant is widely used as edible newlineplant but its nutritional quality with respect to its vitamins fatty acids amino acids and newlinemineral content still remained unexplored except the species was tested for the heavy metals newlinesuch as As Pb Hg Cd Zn Cu and Cr. The volatile semivolatile polar compounds newlinenutritional quality (amino acid vitamin minerals and fatty acid) along with physical newlineendurance test need to be analysed to ascertain the bioactivity and pharmacological potential newlineof the plant. newline newline-
