Abstract: The thesis describes the studies of chromium and cobalt doped TiO2 based singlephase newlineDMS nanoparticles (Ti1-xCrxO2 and Ti1-xCoxO2; x=0.00, 0.03, 0.05, and 0.07) newlinesynthesised by acid modified sol-gel method. Thermal, microstructural, morphological, newlineoptical, dielectric, and magnetic properties of the samples are studied. newlineTGA was performed for undoped, Cr and Co-doped samples (as synthesized). newlineInitial weight loss up to 150ºC is due to removal of physically adsorbed water. The newlinesecond stage weight loss up to 400ºC is due to loss of chemisorbed water, and residual newlineorganic. There is negligible weight loss above 400ºC and crystalline formation takes newlineplace. Hence, 450ºC can be used as annealing temperature. .... newline
