Abstract: India s relation with the Arabian Peninsula/Gulf region dates back to antiquity. It may even be claimed that relations are as old as the history itself. Arab traders used to act as middlemen between Indian traders and others, mainly Europeans. The relationship between the two regions received a new dimension with arrival of Islam from the Arabian peninsula. Islamic culture enriched the Indian society in many ways. The synthesis between the two great civilizations and cultures gave a new dynamism and vigour to the Indian culture and society............. newline
