Abstract: | Workplace Ostracism, the feeling of being ignored by others at work, is a universal phenomenon affecting individuals all around the world. This study has focused on the consequences it may have in organizations and how this relationship that may exist between Workplace Ostracism and its consequences, in this study Job Satisfaction and On- the-job Behaviors, may be affected by other variables that exist in the environment of the workplace; here mediation and moderation effects of the Self Esteem, Personality and Subjective Well Being on the two relationships have been analysed. The study was conducted using self-report cross sectional survey method of research and primary data on all the variables understudy was collected by administering questionnaires. Data was collected from employees working at managerial positions at the manufacturing units of the members of Tractor Industry in the North Indian states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Workplace Ostracism was found to exist in varying degree in responses of almost all the respondents and it was found to vary with age and length of service at the organizations. It was found to have significant relationships with both Job Satisfaction and the four types of behaviors studied under On-the-job Behaviors; significant mediation and moderating effects of the variables understudy were also found to exist and have been discussed. newline |
