dc.description.abstract | The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme also referred to as the ECHS is a flagship medical plan that facilitates cashless and all-encompassing medical coverage for former military members and their dependents. The Central Organisation ECHS, which is the highest authority in charge of administering this system, is the body that falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defence. Through the utilization of a network that encompasses ECHS Polyclinics, Service medical facilities, Government hospitals, and empaneled commercial hospitals, as well as specific Government AYUSH institutes, the program is carried out across the entirety of the nation. newlineThe ECHS Regional Centre (RC) in Pune, Nagpur, and Mumbai are in charge of supervising the administration of the ECHS in the state of Maharashtra under the Central Organisation at Delhi. The RCs at Pune, Nagpur, and Mumbai are the entities that are accountable for ensuring the general coordination and successful operation of the plan across the state of Maharashtra. In addition, it offers administrative assistance to the ECHS Polyclinics and the empaneled hospitals. The Station Headquarters, under which the ECHS Polyclinics fall geographically exercises the local administrative control of the ECHS Polyclinics. Beneficiaries of the ECHS make their first inquiry at one of the ECHS Polyclinics located across the state of Maharashtra. The beneficiaries may get both primary and secondary levels of medical treatment from them. Beneficiaries may also be sent to hospitals empaneled by the polyclinics for specialized treatment. ECHS participants in Maharashtra may get tertiary care at any of the hospitals that have been approved for participation in the program. They have a staff of highly trained medical professionals and facilities that are up to date, and they have a full complement of both. | |
