Abstract: | Introduction: Enterococcus species are Gram-positive bacteria that are widespread newlinein the human gastrointestinal system and are opportunistic pathogens. They are newlinebecoming recognized as a primary source of nosocomial infections, and their newlinepropensity to develop antibiotic resistance is a growing concern. Understanding the newlineabundance and distribution of Enterococcus species, particularly Enterococcus newlinefaecalis, is critical for developing effective infection prevention and control newlinemethods. newlineAim newlineand#61656; newlineIsolation and identification of Enterococcus faecalis species. newlineand#61656; newlineTo determine prevalence of Enterococcus faecalis species. newlineand#61656; newlineTo detect antimicrobial resistance pattern of Enterococcus faecalis isolated newlinefrom various clinical samples. newlineObjective newlineand#61656; newlinePresent study will help to know the prevalence of Enterococcus faecalis newlinespecies from different clinical samples and their antimicrobial resistance newlinepattern. newlineand#61656; newlineDetection and close monitoring of drug resistant strain will help in newlinemanagement of infections caused by Enterococcus faecalis species and newlineformulation of antibiotic policy in hospital and appropriate infection control newlinemeasures to reduce the incidences of antimicrobial drug resistance. newlineMaterials and Methods newline1. Design of the Study: newline This prospective study was carried out at the Department of Microbiology newlineat Pacific Medical College and Hospital in Udaipur, Rajasthan, from May newline2020 to December 2023. newline In the laboratory, 1000 samples were processed to identify Enterococcus newlinespecies, of which 309 were isolated and identified. newline The isolated Enterococcus species were then processed for identification of newlineEnterococcus faecalis and its antimicrobial resistance pattern. Stool newlinesamples were omitted since Enterococcus is a natural flora of the colon. newline A total of 1000 Enterococcus samples were analyzed for the isolation of newlineantimicrobial medication resistance patterns. newlineObservations and result newlineIn our research studies we have analyze 1000 clinical samples, out of these newlinesamples Enterococcus faecalis was found in 309 samples and shown prevalence i.e. newline30 |
