Changing cultural landscapes o f Leh dynamics determinants and manifestations

Abstract

Landscapes and their study are innate to the discipline of Geography as the most evident manifestation of nature and culture interactions. The present research tried to understand the changing cultural landscapes of Leh. The primary objectives were weaved to reconstruct the cultural history of Leh, evaluate cultural landscape transformation in terms of settlements, houses, urban centre driven by change in population, occupational structure and lifestyle practices. Utilising primary and secondary data, including extensive field surveys, interviews, document analysis, and geospatial technology, this study aimed to analyse the evolving landscape of the region comprehensively. newline
