Abstract: This research explores the multifaceted role of the TRIPS Agreement, an international treaty administered by the WTO, in shaping intellectual property regulations globally. The National IPR Policy aims to foster innovation, streamline patent approvals, and align India with global IPR norms while promoting creativity. However, India faces ongoing challenges in implementing these standards, particularly in protecting local innovations and industries while promoting access to global markets. newlineThe research delves into IPRs serve as a reward for creativity, offering competitive advantages and fostering global economic growth. IPR laws also contribute to the harmonization of legal frameworks across nations, addressing the challenges of protecting innovations across diverse legal systems. It highlights the international organizations and treaties that shape the global IPR regime and the role they play in encouraging innovation and competition across various fields, including science, law, business, and art. The research also examines how globalization and technological advancements have redefined India s IP landscape. Each area of IP law- copyright, patent, trademark, geographical indication, trade secret, and biodiversity faces distinctive challenges, from enforcement difficulties to balancing public access with creator rights. Emerging trends like the digital era, international compliance, and the growing importance of trade secret protection further shape the legal landscape. The research suggests the need for strengthening enforcement mechanisms, particularly in digital environments, and raising awareness of intellectual property rights. It emphasizes the importance of global collaboration in harmonizing India s IP laws with international standards, while ensuring protection for traditional knowledge, biodiversity, and local industries. newline newline
