Abstract: | This study aims to explore the inter relationship between the hamstring and diaphragm muscles in young adults focusing on their strength activation patterns and the impact of diaphragmatic breathing on hamstring muscle activation Using a Pre and Post study design with a sample size of 120 individuals 70 percentage male 30 percentage female aged 18 to 25 the study includes a baseline pulmonary function test PFT and incorporates dual-channel electromyography EMG during hamstring muscle stretching newline newlineThe results reveal a significant enhancement in lung function demonstrated by notable differences in pre test and post test levels of forced vital capacity FVC forced expiratory volume in one second FEV1 and FEV1 and FVC ratio This improvement suggests the effectiveness of the intervention in enhancing participants pulmonary dynamics chest mobility and reducing dyspnea on exertion newline newlineThe positive correlation observed between hamstring and diaphragm muscles emphasizes their interconnected role in human movement Physiotherapists can leverage these findings by integrating hamstring stretching exercises into treatment plans to optimize lung function and enhance overall respiratory capacity in patients This study sheds light on the potential benefits of a targeted approach to muscle interaction in improving both musculoskeletal and respiratory health newline |
