Abstract: Tillage intensive cropping practices have deteriorated soil organic matter and soil quality in Indo-Gangetic plains of the country. Consequently, soil organic carbon (SOC) levels has declined over years. There is a need of management practices that support carbon sequestration in the soil. The present study examined SOC, humic substances and biological properties of soil in two year of experimentation. newline
