Abstract: | Travel is a dynamic and integral part of our lives, offering a wide range of benefits that extend beyond the physical act of moving from one place to another. Whether for leisure, education, or professional reasons, the impact of travel is diverse and deeply our human experiences. Travel facilitates connections with others from different backgrounds. This thesis explores the intricate relationship between travel experiences and personal development, shedding light on the transformative impact of journeys on individuals. This study is to discuss about the companions and the impact on the traveler on their travel. In the chapter two the motive of the traveller for the travel was discussed based on the push factors involved in their journey. The motivations behind travel are multifaceted, shaped by individual desires for self-discovery and a yearning for new experiences. As travelers seek to break free from the monotony of routine, the intrinsic motivation for personal growth emerges as a powerful force. The quest for self-discovery often leads individuals to unfamiliar territories, challenging preconceptions and fostering a deeper understanding of oneself. The impact of the companion in the factors of motive was analysed from the chosen work. In the third chapter, it explores the phenomenon of positive traumatic growth within the context of travel experiences. Trauma, typically associated with negative connotations, can manifest in positive transformative ways during journeys is discussed. The study delves into instances where individuals encounter challenges, setbacks, or intense experiences during travel, resulting in profound personal growth, resilience, and an enhanced appreciation for life. Travel, often seen as a means of exploration and self-discovery, becomes a fertile ground for positive traumatic growth when individuals are exposed to unexpected and transformative events.
