Abstract: In the current thesis, an attempt is made to understand the various genes newlinethat are expressed during the pebrine infection. The study was carried out on Muga newline(Antheraea assamensis) silkworms, native to north-eastern regions of India, that newlineare reared outdoors due to which they are often exposed to numerous pathogens. newlineNosema assamensis, a microsporidium is commonly found as one of the major newlinepathogens that infect these silkworms. The transcripts that were obtained from the newlinetranscriptome analysis of the fat body and the midgut of the muga silkworms newlineinfected with Nosema, were classified into the biological, cellular, and molecular newlinefunctional categories. newline
