Abstract: The energy demand of mankind and cost of conventional energy are increasing day by newlineday, which has made people to look alternative renewable energy sources. Recently gridconnected newlinerenewable energy systems have advanced significantly in India. The most newlineimportant renewable energy sources solar and wind energy complement one another, newlinemaking the system to produce electricity almost entire year. The major challenge in newlineutilizing hybrid system, includes renewable energy sources, is the optimization of newlinerenewable energy sources. When using renewable sources of energy, it is very important newlineto get as much power as possible from the source. Scheduling power sources is a key part newlineof managing energy and making the system cost-effective. A hybrid power system needs newlineto use an energy management controller so that it can make the best use of the renewable newlineenergy it has and be more reliable. In addition to reliability, consumers require electricity newlinethat is affordable. Compared to the existing controllers, the proposed controller is newlinedesigned in such a way that, in addition to power management, importance is given to newlinecost-effect-based power management among the available energy resources along with newlinetariff. In this work, a grid-associated PV-wind energy system with a battery is analyzed. newlinePV, wind, the grid, and batteries are the sources that need to be planned well to keep the newlinepower on and keep costs down. newlineIntelligent power management controller receives available renewable energy details, newlinebattery SOC, load demand and charge of green energy to optimally select the source and newlinemanage the load. Energy management controllers use optimisation strategies for effective newlineutilisation of sources and cost minimisation. Limiting the household energy cost is newlineconsidered as objective, and the delivery ratio of power offered to the grid and utilised newlinelocally is treated as the optimisation variable. An improved genetic algorithm is proposed newlineto solve the formulated nonlinear optimisation problems. The time-of-use tariff is newlinebecoming popular in India; there
