Abstract: | Casting is an inherent aspect of the manufacturing process and has been employed by newlinemanufacturers for many centuries. The foundry industry in developing countries encounters newlinedifficulties concerning the production of low-quality products due to the involvement of numerous newlineprocess variables. With the advancement of computer hardware and software, computational newlinesimulation and visualization are becoming more significant tools for understanding and enhancing newlineindustrial processes. The primary aim of this present work is to minimize the occurrence of sand newlinecasting defects through the utilization of simulation and also experimentation. The proposed research newlineendeavor delves into the examination of the impact of heat treatment on mechanical properties under newlinevarious testing conditions. This approach may be helpful for foundry industries to control and scale newlinedown the defects in casting. newlineIn this particular study, the selected part geometry as the industrial pulley and the gating system was newlinecreated using Pro/ ENGINEER software. The mold filling and solidification analysis were performed newlinethrough the utilization of ProCAST Simulation software.
