Abstract: | This thesis examines the utilization of Information and Communication newlineTechnology (ICT) tools by English as Second Language (ESL) Learners to enhance newlineLSRW skills. The study aims to explore the impact of using ICT tools on English newlinelanguage acquisition among 364 first-year Bachelor of Technology students at SRM newlineInstitute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, India. This newlineresearch uses a purposive sampling technique to discern ESL participants, ensuring newlinethat the data collected would yield pertinent and meaningful insights to address the newlineresearch inquiries at the premises effectively. A weekly assessment was newlineadministered to both control and experimental groups to facilitate a comparative newlineanalysis between the cohorts. This investigation employed SPSS Software version newline26 and Minitab to scrutinize the data collected from the pre-test and post-test. This newlineresearch delves into the amalgamation of erudite theories and models, encompassing newlinethe Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, Self-Determination Theory, newlineTechnology Acceptance Model, and TPACK framework for interpreting and newlinereconciling the findings. This study also reveals the ESL perceptions of ICT tools to newlineenhance LSRW skills. It also suggests that effective utilization of selected tools and newlinetechnological modalities will be beneficial for ESL learners to enhance their LSRW newlineskills newline |
