dc.description.abstract | Almost every decade, a new communication system has been introduced, improving the Quality of Service (QoS), Providing new features and exploring new technologies. Several key enabling techniques are introduced in 5G which can also be extended to 6G technologies. The first technical direction to support the 5G vision is to increase Spectral efficiency. Cognitive radio (CR) is the promising technology for remitting the problem of spectrum crisis and is a key component of fifth generation (5G) Communications. For optimum usage of accessible unused spectrum, spectrum sensing is a critical aspect of CR. Various wideband spectrum sensing techniques suited for 5G are investigated. newlineCompressive spectrum sensing with modified Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) recovery algorithm is proposed. Proposed algorithm achieves stable recovery. It also requires small number of sensing measurements compared to the existing state of the art approaches. This research also focuses on two user NOMA downlink system under various channel conditions like Rayleigh, Rician and Nakagami-k fading channel. Outage probability performance of Fixed and Ordered NOMA is performed and it is from the results that the performance of ordered NOMA is high under various channel conditions. QOS threshold rate of weak user can be further increased by Power Optimization. The spectral efficiency of the NOMA downlink system is increased due to the increase in the QOS performance of weak user. | |
