Abstract: vii newlineAbstract newlinePresently, education has accepted the philosophy of inclusiveness where children with special needs (CWSN) learn and develop in regular neighbourhood schools along with children without special needs. However, when it comes to the execution of inclusive education, the role of teacher becomes paramount. Teachers should be professionally competent to carry out the duties in the ever-increasing diverse classroom. Also, in order to carry out the duties properly, having resilience, self-efficacy and work values are pertinent for the teaching professionals. Therefore, the researcher has undertaken the present study titled as Resilience, self-efficacy and work values as predictors of professional competence of teachers in inclusive classrooms of schools in Jharkhand. The aim of the present study is to find out the relationship of resilience, self-efficacy and work values with the professional competence of teachers in the inclusive classrooms. Also, this study attempts to find out if the selected independent variables are significant predictors of the professional competence of teachers. The study uses a correlational research design. In order to collect data, the professional competence scale developed by Dr. Vijayalekshmi N.S and Aji, K.S in 2017; the work values scale developed by Dr. Ranjit Kaur, Dr. Kavita Sharma and Dr. Shamshir Singh Dhillon in 2020 has been used and two scales viz., the resilience scale and the self-efficacy scale for teachers in inclusive classrooms have been prepared by the researcher along with the supervisor. The participants of the study included 400 teachers selected through cluster sampling, teaching in inclusive classrooms of ICSE, CBSE and JAC board schools in East and West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand. The data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results demonstrated a significantly positive relationship of professional competence with resilience, self-efficacy and work values of the teachers.
