Abstract: | The experiment was carried out at Horticulture Garden, Department of Fruit Science, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur (U.P.) during the years 2022 and 2023. Sixteen treatments viz. four levels of NAA (0, 25, 50 and 75 ppm) and Zinc sulfate (0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6%) were studies in a Factorial Completely Randomized Design with three replications. Spraying was done twice i.e. before flowering (28 Jan.) and at pea stage (24 March) during both the years. Application of the (NAA 50ppm + Zinc sulfate 0.4%) increase length of panicle (22.10 and 23.80cm), number of panicles (181.77 and 183.79), number of fruits per panicle (258.90 and 259.41), fruit count at pea stage (45.81 and 49.19), fruit count at pit hardening stage (39.15 and 38.70), fruit count at ripening stage (26.98 and 27.62), length of fruit (3.57 and 3.60cm), diameter of fruit (3.22 and 3.20cm), fruit weight (20.12 and 22.28g), pulp weight (13.45 and 13.72g), total fruit yield (80.51 and 84.54kg/plant), yield of marketable fruit (79.11 and 83.17kg/plant) and also increased nutritional qualities of fruit such as total soluble solids (15.96 and 16.300Brix), total sugar content (15.96 and 16.30%), juice content (63.63 and 64.22%), TSS: acid ratio (13.67 and 14.31), sugar: acid ratio (12.04 and 12.69), vitamin-C (41.22 and 41.64mg/100g), organoleptic test (82.36 and 83.82) and pulp: stone ratio (4.02 and 4.08) while reducing in number of cracked fruit at harvesting (2.45 and 2.11) and acidity (0.431 and 0.427) in respective years and the same treatment also reduced the days required to flowering after first spray (20.63 and 20.26) days, length of seed (1.18 and 1.30cm), diameter of seed (1.23 and 1.25cm), weight of seed (3.34 and 3.37g), rind weight (3.20 and 3.19g) and acidity (1.32 and 1.28%). The treatment combination of NAA 50ppm + 0.4% zinc sulfate was found to be the best in this experiment. newline |
