Abstract: Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is an advance concept of wireless communication newlinetechnology. In this network, the nodes are mobile and have equal rights to join and newlineleave the network at any point of time. Additionally, the administrative authority is newlinemissing in this network. Therefore, network suffers from the various performance and newlinesecurity issues. The performance of network can be negatively affected by frequent newlinepath breaks, low energy nodes, mobility and security attacks. In this presented work, newlineboth the issues (performance and security) have been considered to study and analyze newlinethe solution. The first solution is considering performance issue of network, thus a newlineNode Capability based Ad-hoc on Demand Vector routing (NC-AODV) has been newlinepresented. This routing is modified version of Ad-hoc on Demand Vector routing newline(AODV). The routing algorithm is modified for incorporating the capable nodes in newlineroute formation for communication. Additionally, the node capability is defined by newlinethe different performance parameters of node such as energy, buffer length, mobility newlineand available bandwidth. The goodness of the intermediate route nodes have been newlineevaluated by using these parameters. Additionally, by using the most efficient route newlinethe communication has been performed. newlineThe second solution is motivated to design a security solution which can help to deal newlinewith the performance as well as security issues. Therefore, the NC-AODV routing is newlinemodified for incorporating the trust based node assessment scheme. The trust based newlineschemes involve the trust measurement task in two parts i.e. global trust and local newlinetrust. The global trust is responsible for whole route security while the local trust is newlineresponsible for individual node. This trust based routing scheme is known as the newlineTNC-AODV routing. Both the techniques have been implemented based on NS2.35 newlinesimulator.
