This thesis explores triptycene derived chiral ligands and azo oligomers, highlighting their potential in catalysis and environmental remediation. The triptycene derived chiral ligands emerged efficient for the challenging asymmetric Diels-Alder reaction of cyclopentadiene and nitrostyrenes, selectively generating the Diels-Alder adducts with remarkable diastereoselectivity and enantioselectivity with endo preference. The triptycene derived azo oligomers exhibited distinctive fluorescence and selectively adsorbed cationic dyes, even in the presence of anionic dyes. Reusable for up to six cycles, the oligomers provided sustainable adsorbents. Furthermore, their chemosensing application showcased sensitivity and selectivity of the oligomers toward picric acid. Overall, this thesis emphasizes the successful development of triptycene derived ligands and azo oligomers, contributing insights into catalytic mechanisms, environmental remediation, and sensing technologies, with potential implications spanning various fields. newline
