This study explores the welding of Monel 400 using NA60 filler newlinemetal and DC-pulsed GMAW, aiming to assess the quality of the resulting newlineweld joints. The research involved thorough chemical analysis, newlinemicrostructural characterization, and mechanical property evaluation. The newlinechemical composition was determined through the utilization of an Optical newlineEmission Spectrometer for spectro analysis. The base metal, with dimensions newlineof 100 mm × 50 mm × 2 mm, was subjected to the Wire Electrical Discharge newlineMachining (WEDM) technique for the purpose of cutting. The Pulsed MIG newlineprocess was employed for welding, utilizing an automated setup. An analysis newlineof weld bead was done in order to examine the optimal range of welding newlineprocess parameters for achieving improved weldments without defects and newlineachieving full depth of penetration. The welding parameters chosen for this newlinestudy consist of three levels for each of the following variables: welding newlinecurrent (60, 70, 80 A), arc voltage (18.5, 19, 19.5 V), and welding speed (300, newline325, 350 mm/min). A selection was made to utilize a L9 orthogonal array for newlinethe implementation of bead on trials. The utilization of welding parameters newlineconsisting of an amperage of 70 A, a voltage value of 19 V, and a travel speed newlineof 325 mm/min yielded a successful outcome characterized by complete newlinepenetration and the absence of any defects. newlineThrough experimentation, it was observed that the welding process newlineeffectively transferred metal without spattering, thus preventing short circuits. newlineThe weldments underwent the Wire Cut EDM process in order to achieve newlinestandard sizes, facilitating subsequent analysis of microstructure, mechanical newlineproperties, and corrosion resistance newline
