dc.description.abstractSwitched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) is a type of electronic power newlinesupply that effectively transforms electrical energy from one form to another newlineusing a switching regulator. SMPS achieves greater power conversion newlineefficiency, smaller size, and lighter weight than conventional linear power newlinesupply. The main components of a SMPS include a Diode Bridge Rectifier newline(DBR), followed by a DC-DC Converter with an appropriate control circuitry. newlineIt keeps track of the output voltage and modifies the duty cycle as necessary to newlinekeep the output voltage stable. A wide variety of electronic gadgets, including newlinecomputers, TVs, mobile phones, and many other consumer electronics use newlineSMPS. Additionally, they are utilized in industrial applications like lighting newlinesystems, power inverters and motor control. newlineHigh gain DC-DC converters are a type of switching power newlineconverter that provides high output voltage, low switching stress, low current newlineripples, and low cost when used as SMPS. Many researchers have built SMPS newlinewith a two-stage conversion approach for power quality enhancement at the newlinesource side and output voltage control at the load side by combining two newlineDC-DC converters in series with their control circuitry. Two-stage conversion newlineis replaced in this research work by a single stage conversion technique newlineinvolving Dual Loop Control (DLC) incorporating a cascade control strategy. newlineThe inner loop shapes the line current, thereby improving the power factor, and newlinethe outer loop provides load voltage regulation. Single stage conversion newlinetechnique with DLC reduces the number of components and sensors used. The newlineCascade control strategy increases the dynamic response of the overall system newline
