Abstract

In the present study was aimed the personality traits, coping strategies and quality of life newlineamong patients of depression and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Both depression and newlineobsessive compulsive disorder are chronic and challenging mental health conditions. Some newlinepersonality traits are more related to the task oriented coping while some personality traits are newlinerelated to emotional coping strategies. Personality has definite negative traits like newlineneuroticism, extraversion and psychoticism and recent prospective studies have stressed newlineneuroticism as premorbid risk factor for depression. Our focus is to understand how these newlineconditions can impact an individual s personality individuals with depression may withdraw newlinefrom social situations and may feel less interested in activities they once enjoyed. OCD is newlineoften characterized by an intense need for order and control, and individual with OCD may newlinehave strong desire to achieve perfection in their thoughts or behaviors.
