Abstract: | The prime motivation of this research is to design Fog enabled network distributed environment for smart city servicing and develop service and resource scheduling policies for providing end-to-end complete solution for smart city IoT applications across multiple domains. Keeping this in view, this research has made an attempt to simulate a distributed network environment for smart city IoT applications. CloudSim 3.0 has been used to setup the proposed network environment. Using the Application Programming Interface (APIs) provided by CloudSim, an attempt has been made to build an efficient and self-adaptable scheduler that can serve the application requests of multiple domains with the use of cross-domain architecture, context-aware computing approaches and improved scheduling mechanisms and thus attain performance efficiency. newlineThe scope of this research is to design a distributed Fog enabled network environment and to develop service and resource scheduling algorithms for the proposed network environment and to find the trends and tradeoffs among the competing objectives of smart city s smart servicing scenarios. To this end, a comprehensive analysis of different proposed scheduling algorithms has been carried out by means of simulating an aforementioned proposed network distributed environment using CloudSim 3.0. Various scheduling policies performance measured on predefined SLAs. and the performance of different scheduling mechanisms developed in this thesis have been studied under various dynamic conditions. newline newline |
