Production of pigments by Pseudomonas spp and its application based study

Abstract

Pseudomonas spp. produces pyocyanin, pyorubin and pyoverdine pigments using synthetic media. The quantity of the pigments various on the isolates. It has demonstrated multiple applications in agriculture, medicine, textile industry and environmental protection. This study aimed to isolate and newlinepurify the pyocyanin and pyorubin pigments from Pseudomonas aeruginosa PI21 and pyoverdine pigment from Pseudomonas putida PI33, grown in synthetic media and agro-wastes to enhance the pigments production. Lake water, rhizosphere soil and raw milk samples were collected and subjected to serial dilution. Pseudomonas isolation agar was used for plating. The inoculated media newlineplates were then incubated at 37°C for 48 hours. Only 35 pigment producing bacterial colonies were isolated. Among 35 colonies, 14 isolates were further selected based on the pigments produced by the colonies in the nutrient medium. newline
