Abstract: Recent development in Internet technologies and exponential newlinegrowth in internet users need an efficient Data Centre Network (DCN). There newlineis a rapid growth in the number of applications/websites hosted in a Data newlineCentre (DC), and the storage capacity needs to meet the data growth. Data newlineCentre comprises server farms that provide internet users with software, newlinestorage, and application services. Data Centre architectural design includes newlineservers, routers, switches, firewalls, storage systems, and network device newlinecontrollers. Data Centre usually accommodates many computation and newlinestorage nodes interconnected through a DCN. Traditional DCN presents many newlinechallenges to network administrators due to the exponential increase in the newlineclients and bandwidth utilizations that results in many implementation newlinelimitations. There are several major problems with classical DCN newlinearchitectures, including that they are bound to physical infrastructure newlinededicated to a specific task and have a limited capacity for handling traffic. newlineNetwork resources in the Data Centre are not efficiently utilized because of newlinestatic routing mechanisms. newlineTo overcome the restrictions in traditional DCN, Software Defined newlineNetworking (SDN) is used to enhance the performance metrics and engineer newlinetraffic with a Load Balancing function. SDN simplifies network management newlineand changes the concept of traditional networks by separating the control newlineplane from the forwarding plane. SDN centralizes the control of services and newlineenhances the efficiency of servers through Load Balancing. SDN controller newlineLoad Balancing does facilitate using custom routing algorithms without newlinehaving to count on algorithms defined by traditional network equipment. An newlineSDN-based Load Balancer saves running time by controlling an entire newlinenetwork of applications and web servers. newline newline
