All over the world, the utilization of aluminium alloy in automotive and aerospace sectors has increased due to its desirable properties such as high strength-to-weight ratio, good machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The scrap aluminium alloy is one such alloy which is widely used in numerous applications. The gravity and the pressure die-casting processes are employed for processing aluminium alloys, but the components exhibit several casting defects. The Squeeze casting process has more significance in creating less defective parts. There are three batches of squeeze cast components produced in this study. The first phase of this research work employs Taguchi method to determine optimum process parametric settings for producing the squeeze cast components of scrap aluminium. The process parameters like squeeze pressure, die pre-heat temperature and pressure duration were considered and the result such as ultimate tensile strength (UTS), hardness (BHN), compressive strength (CS), fatigue life and impact strength of the components. This study showed that squeeze pressure has emerged as the most dominant parameter that made the most significant contribution to enhance the mechanical properties of the components. newline
