Securing healthcare data in the cloud using blockchain and cryptographic approaches

Abstract

In the rapidly growing intelligent applications generating vast amounts of data, the paramount need for a robust security platform becomes imperative to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information. Intelligent devices like the Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber-physical systems, smartwatches, and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) generate enormous amounts of daily data. This data is stored in a cloud platform due to its large data handling capacity. However, the security framework is not static by cloud service providers. The user needs to avail of security features from the third-party integration. To help this scenario, the blockchain model is used with a cloud framework for storing data with high security. Blockchain is an absolute storage device where data stored is always unchangeable and consistent. This study focuses on providing high security for large datasets from smart applications. There is a variety of encryption and decryption algorithms studied from state-of-the-art techniques. Those researches prove that the cloud has a high confidential rate in storing data.
