Abstract: Collagen is a central bio-macromolecule, which finds its vast applications in leather sector in forward integration and biomedical sector in backward integration. Chronologically, its applications as a leather making structural protein are ancient that date back to the B.C era. Leathers have hundreds of end uses that include clothing, footwear, handbags, belting leathers, furniture, tools, and sports goods/equipments whereas biomedical applications of collagen that include orthopaedic and sports medicine, dental, wound care, cardiovascular, general, plastic and reconstructive surgery, dural, ophthalmic and oncology applications belong to modern technology era. For stability and longevity reasons, the above applications of collagen demand treatments with numerous organic and inorganic agents. Such agents in their nano-versions have revolutionized the above collagen-associated sectors. newline
