Abstract: | The present work focuses on improving thermal and electrical performance of electronic and electric instruments. Various literatures reported that Polymer material has high specific strength and modulus to use it for electrical insulation purpose due to easily developed in low cost also lighter in weight but has less thermal conductivity. This work discover highly thermal conductive and electrical resistive epoxy-based polymer composites used in electronic field. Boron Nitride (BN) / Banana fiber (BF) / Epoxy polymer composite is prepared as per BBD (Box Behnken Design) model by hand lay method. Thermal conductivity (W/m-K) by two slab hot plate guarded apparatus and electrical resistance by keithley meter are measured. Further measurement of dielectric constant using resonance method is to be carried out. Optimization is to be carried out to get optimum content to achieve said objectives using Analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique by obtaining regression equation. Finally it was observed that BN filled banana fiber reinforced polymer matrix composite shows maximum thermal conductivity and offers electrical insulation as well. On the other hand significantly rice husk treated with nano h-BN shows similar properties which enable use of natural fibers composites for electrical insulation purpose. Banana fiber exhibits a superior thermal conductivity of 1.03 W/m-K and an outstanding electrical resistance of 279.88 Giga-ohms correspondingly minimum dielectric constant of 1.20 at 5 wt. % of h-BN with a particle size of 5 and#956;m and 2 wt. % of BF. newline |
