Abstract: | Flavonoids are therapeutic bio-active phytochemical compounds that possess medicinal properties and exhibit anticancer properties against many cancers. They are rich in antioxidants that offer protection against several other diseases also. They have an indole ring and prerogative structure that led to treating cancers and provide an impetus for the current study for drug development against brain tumour. The present study aimed to isolate, identify, and characterize the flavonoids from hydro-methanolic extracts of Aloe vera leaves, Garlic bulbs, Ginger rhizoids, orange peel, and Grapes. I proposed the expression of p38 and Nf-kand#946; signalling genes and their impact on the survival rate with anticancer activity of flavonoids. newlineIn this study, phytochemical analysis was carried to determine qualitative constituents by precipitation and colour development. Additionally, total phenolic content and flavonoids were estimated by the spectrophotometric method. After confirmation with Thin Layer chromatography, flavonoids were separated by column chromatography and confirmed with spectrophotometer and HPLC. Antimicrobial efficacy, antioxidant property, nitric oxide scavenging potential was evaluated and after that anticancer activity of flavonoids was also studied against U87MG cell lines. Flavonoids induced apoptosis was examined by MTT assay and stained with trypan blue for morphological study. p38 and Nf-kand#946; genes regulation and total protein expression in human glioma (Glioblastoma-U87MG) cell lines were also investigated in vitro. newline newline |
