Abstract: Effectiveness of Skill Development Programmes of Government of India with Reference to select small and Medium Enterprises in Rangareddy and Hyderabad Districts of Telangana State-A Study The incremental changes that have been brought about in skill development programmes in SMEs pave the way for optimum utilization of manpower and sustainable development of SMEs. The Policies created by the federal Government like Make in India , Digital India , Skilll India newlineStartup India, Stand-Up India, Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), have provided an impetus to spur the large pool of human resource in establishing new SMEs and existing SMEs to provide entrepreneur Skill development programmes in sustaining the SMEs and in with creating entrepreneur opportunities for unskilled and semi-skilled work force. This study analyses the effectiveness of skill development programmes in empowering SMEs and directing the youth in connecting with skill development programmes in becoming new young entrepreneurs and reduce the skill gaps to enhance the capacity of SMEs to contribute to the country s GDP. This study examines the effectiveness of skill development programs (SDPs) in the two districts of SMEs within the Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts. Through a comprehensive analysis, the study aims to assess the awareness, Interest, Expectations, Effectiveness and Challenges of SDPs of select SMEs. The research also investigates the outcomes of these programs in terms of enhancing the capacity of SMEs.The Government of India has been taking positive initiatives in skill development programmes with its machinery MSME, MSDE, MHRD, Ministry of commerce and industry, and other ministry, but the rapid change in business environment, Technological development, and various factors still create challenges for the SMEs. This study consists of five chapters they are. The First Chapter covers the Introduction of SDPs and different National skill development programmes carried in two districts. To know these programmes
