Abstract: Titanium and its alloys are commonly used in medical implants and aerospace applications requiring high fatigue strength. The abrasive water jet machining also has a major problem with grit embedment, which has a direct impact on the surface integrity of the machined surface. Surface integrity has a strong correlation with component fatigue life and performance in the aircraft manufacturing industry. In this work focus is made on surface integrity characteristics and chemical state of abrasive water jet machined for Ti6Al4V alloy.
