dc.description.abstractThe field of medicine and healthcare has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, and this has led to changes in the behavior of patients as consumers of healthcare services. Patients are becoming more informed and proactive in managing their health, and they expect better quality and more personalized care from medical practitioners. There is need to maintain a balance regarding the services provided by the medical practitioners and patients as consumers availing the treatment as services. The following research objectives are considered for present research study: newlineTo understand who is a consumer and medical practitioner under the Consumer Protection act 2019. To look into the problems and perspectives of the consumers related to the medical practitioners. To study the historical and international perspective of the protection of consumers. To look into the legislative approach towards consumer protection against medical practitioners. To study the Policy and self-regulatory measures of medical professional for consumers. To look in to the judicial approach towards the problem of consumers and medical practitioners. newline The present research has studies the policy and self-regulatory measures of medical professional for consumers. In the present research various laws have been studied to protect the consumers like The Indian Medical Council Act, 1956; Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquettes and Ethics Regulation, 2002; Indian Medical Degree Act 1916; Indian Nursing Council Act 1947; Delhi Nursing Council Act 1997; The Dentistand#8223;s Act 1948; AICTE Rules for Technicians 1987; The Paramedical and Physiotherapy Centre Councils Bill 2007; The Pharmacy Act 1948; The Apprenticeship Act 1961; Pharmacy Practice Regulations, 2015; The National Medical Commission Bill, 2019; National Medical Commission Registered Medical Practitioner (Professional Conduct) Regulations, 2022.
