Abstract: | Abstract newlineUrinary Tract Infections UTIs are prevalent bacterial infections worldwide documented during the ancient times The social determinants of the health care system revealed that individuals with low socioeconomic status SEC are associated with increased risk of infections as well as antibiotic resistant Nearly 50 fold higher for women to get especially between 20 to 50and#8201;years age Culture is main stay in the detection of the UTI newlineIt was a prospective study conducted in thedepartment of Microbiology Vishnu dental college Bhimawaram between March 2021 to May 2022 Midstream urine MSU sample collection was collected and processed as per the guidelines Chi Square test and logistic regression analysis P lessthan 0 05 was considered to be statistically significant newlineUTI was detected in 322 100 percent The female male ratio was 1 7 Maximum 22 percent 72 UTI was detected in 29 37 age Esch coli was the prevalent 29 percent 91 isolate followed by followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae KP 25 percent 78 Out of the 52 carbapenem resistant KP isolates OXA 48 gene was detected maximum 31 59 6 percent followed by VIM 1 4 7 7 percent blaNDM 1 3 5 8 percent blaIMP 2 3 9 percent and unknown 12 percent 23 newlineUTI was common among the female and 29 37 years age group was commonly affected Infection was common among the low socioeconomic category and those were obese Bacteria were the common causative agents and DR was common in KP newline |
