Abstract: Toxins/Emerging pollutants are a category of pollutants that are relatively hazardous to newlineenvironment, human beings and recently garnered a lot of attention. The majority of toxins newlineincludes endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), pesticides, newlinedyes, heavy metal ions, pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs). Exposure newlineto contaminated water has been linked to an increase in incidences of malnutrition, intrauterine newlinegrowth retardation, respiratory illnesses, liver malfunctions, eye and skin diseases, and fatalities. newlineConsequently, there is a critical need for wastewater remediation technologies which are effective, newlinereliable, and economical. Conventional wastewater treatment methods have several shortcomings newlinethat can be addressed with the help of nanotechnology. Unique characteristics of nanostructures newlinemake them intriguing and efficient alternative in wastewater treatment strategies. Chapter 1 newlineemphasis on the occurrence of diverse emerging toxins, their health hazardous effects and their newlinedetection method including colorimetric, fluorescence, electrochemical via different NMs based newlinemethods with in-depth mechanisms. Furthermore, it also delves the pros and cons of the developed newlinemethod. This chapter also summarizes the different kinds of sensors based on 1,8 Naphthalimide newlineand 1,1-diaminoazine moieties for the detection of toxins and why aforesaid moieties are helpful newlinein the development of chemical sensors. newline newline
