dc.description.abstract | Godavari is the second-longest river, containing huge river basin, stood first in India newlineby culturally in rich heterogeneous inhabitants. The scope of the study is the end newlineflowing area of 220 kilometers from Eastern Ghats to Bay of Bengal within the newlineAndhra Pradesh, covering two geographical regions and focused on three categories newlineof temple, eco, and rural tourists. The nature of the present study is descriptive and newlineanalytical as it attempts to describe the tourist perception on Godavari river region newlinetourism by considering the existing status and find out the maintainable actions to newlinesustain. Estimated annual tourist population is six million, the aggregate sample size newlineis 600 and the Multistage Sampling Method was adopted, i.e., four-stage sampling newlineselection. The interview schedule was used as an instrument for the collection of newlineprimary data during the field survey. Finally, the collected raw data in order to pursue newlinethe objectives outlined, the methodology adopted uses different statistical tools based newlineon need and suitability. The thesis report is divided into eight chapters and to give a newlinecomplete picture of Godavari river tourism in Andhra Pradesh. newlineThe analysis of the study is based on the four research hypotheses; the first hypothesis newlineresults infer that the acceptance of river tourism is highly depended on the socioeconomic newlinecharacteristics of select sample tourists. The second hypothesis results infer newlinethat the acceptance of tourists are very well aware of their tour planning in the newlineGodavari river region. The third hypothesis results infer that the partial acceptance of newlinetourists preference of river tour destination is well supported by the local roads, mode newlineof travel and distance. And finally, the fourth hypothesis results infer that the newlineacceptance of satisfactory levels of tourists are highly influenced by the local newlinegastronomy and hospitality facets.
