Abstract: | In statistical research, sample surveys are essential tools for estimating population parameters in a variety of real-world scenarios. The fundamental objective of sample surveys is to make inferences about the entire population based on observations derived from a representative sample. It is underscored that a sample survey is typically more cost-effective than a census survey, yet it can yield information with a higher level of accuracy. Within sample surveys, there is a focus on leveraging auxiliary information to enhance the precision of estimates or diminish sampling errors. newlineThe primary objective of this thesis, Some contributions to estimation of population parameters in sample surveys, is to improve the accuracy, robustness, and efficiency of population parameter estimation through an exploratory path through the complicated nature of sample survey methodology. This study aims to enhance precision by proposing improved estimation methods for finite population parameters, utilizing auxiliary information through diverse sampling techniques. newlineWe have used a variety of datasets along the way, including COVID-19 data sets, other real-world data sets, and simulated data sets. We used computer-based R programming software to run extensive simulations, leveraging the capability of computational tools to evaluate and develop our techniques. newline newline |
