Abstract: Blockchain is a distributed ledger system that uses interconnected blocks to store newlinetransactions. Each block is cryptographically connected to its predecessor; therefore any new newlineblocks must be added to the chain without affecting the content in the preceding blocks. It is a newlinedistributed data structure that allows data to be stored in blocks without the need for a trusted newlinethird party. Immutability of data, transparency and privacy, temper-proof nature, and reduced newlinecosts owing to the lack of an intermediary are some of the main advantages offered by newlineblockchain. Thus, following the successful deployment of Bitcoin, blockchain technology, as newlinea fundamental idea behind bitcoin, has caught the attention of academics and researchers. newlineConsensus protocol is a vital tool to ensure the integrity and consistency of data being newlinereplicated to each node in a P2P network in the absence of third party. Therefore, consensus newlineprotocol is essential in practically every blockchain application. Most of these existing newlineblockchain consensus protocols need massive computational capabilities, substantial energy newlineconsumption, and dependency on monetary stake. To address these shortcomings in newlinemainstream consensus approaches, a lightweight consensus process referred as Delegated newlineProof of Accessibility (DPoAC) is implemented and evaluated. DPoAC makes use of newlinequotShamir secret sharingquot, quotProof of Stake with random selectionquot, and the quotInter-Planetary File newlineSystemquot. The DPoAC operation is composed of four modules: secret generation and newlinedistribution, retrieval of secret shares, block creation and verification, and block rewards and newlinepenalty. A detailed description of DPoAC have been provided and implemented in newlineJavaScript. Furthermore, a comprehensive performance framework has been created to newlineexamine the accuracy of DPoAC to mainstream consensus algorithms. Because of its high newline
