Abstract: | The thesis entitled quotCorrosion Resistance Behaviour of Some Natural Products for Steel: Experimental and Theoretical Studiesquot examines effective corrosion inhibitors and their impact on the steel in 1 M H2SO4 using various methodologies. Corrosion is a key problem which results in an economic loss and danger to Mother Nature. Steel is not particularly corrosion-resistant in its untreated state; however by adding surface protection to the exposed parts, the corrosion resistance can be significantly increased. As steel is commonly used in industries, but during acid pickling, it gets corroded which results in great damage to surface of steel. To reduce the effect of aggressive acids like H2SO4, HCl, and HNO3 etc. protective agents must be employed in corrosive media which covers the surface of the steel during cleansing. In recent years, research of green corrosion inhibitors is on high demand to protect the steel surface from acids. Many traditional synthetic compounds are there in the market which is not eco-friendly. As environment is degrading day by day due to the application of some nondegradable compounds, so there must be the development of green corrosion inhibitors which are of low cost, widely available and with great inhibition efficiency. So the use of natural extract to avoid corrosion was inspired by the insecure effect of many synthetic inhibitors. Here, Green chemistry is a source of environmentally beneficial naturally available corrosion inhibitors. newline |
